Exercise Helps

Exercise does indeed help Fibromyalgia, but it has to be done carefully. If you overdo it with too many repetitions, you will end up hurting for days. I have found out that I can usually do somewhere between four to ten repetitions but no more at a time.

Exercises that I can do:
* Swimming and exercising in the water if I go slow enough.
I could not do Aerobic Swimming Exercises. It made me hurt too much.

* Yoga
Listen to your body though. Don't try to do too far in the poses. Go easy. I use videos after I had tried a few sample yoga classes and got along O.K.

* Tai Chi
I use videos here also.

* Qi Gong
I found an e-book with exercises in it that I can do.

* Isometric Excercises
Hold for 6 counts. Relax for 6 counts in between even though the directions say only 3 counts. They help me maintain muscle strength.

I have found that exercisng about twice a week in one form or another is helpful for me and gives my body a chance to recoup in between. Alternating the type of exercise seems to be helpful too.

The one thing though that I have been able to do on a daily basis is WALK. It seems to actually help. I walk until my hands start to tingle. I think that means that my circulation is doing better. Anyway, it helps.
