Anyone Tried Lyrica or Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia?

I was just curious if anyone has tried the medicines Lyrica or Cymbalta for fibromyalgia symptoms?

I have not tried them. I tried an antidepressant years ago. It worked somewhat for about one and half years. Then the side effects were worse than the problems it was supposed to solve, so I quit it and found other ways to cope.

Currently I take CoQ 10 and a calcium chew.

How are you coping with your symptoms? Are you taking medicine or have you found out a great way to solve your symptoms another way? Type in a comment below. Thanks.

Night Waking Makes Fibromyalgia Worse

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and had trouble getting back to sleep.

So today, I have been struggling to keep awake. Also my muscles hurt all over. I know it is because of the sleep interruption.

One thing that does help me is if I drink pink grapefruit juice. I don't know why this works, but it tends to take the sting out of the muscles so they don't hurt so much. Does this work for you?

Sleeping Wrong Flared Fibromyalgia

Last night I went to bed late and slept on my left side which I have been having a lot of pain there. Since I was so tired, I forgot not to turn to that side. I woke up a couple of hours later in extreme pain and could not get back to sleep.

Finally about 5 a.m. I drifted off to sleep again.

While waking at 7 a.m., I realized I was still in pain. I laid in bed trying to find a comfortable position again.

Finally I got up about 7:45 a.m. but still hurting in my left shoulder and left side of my neck.

Because I didn't sleep well, my fibromyalgia is much flared now. My muscles are cramping everywhere.

I wish I could figure out why I can sleep well one night and not the next. When I sleep well, I don't hurt.

How do you handle your fibromyalgia flares?

Shoulder and Neck Pain Solved

I have been having a lot of pain in my neck and shoulders. I had been attributing it to my pillows when I sleep. Now I have found out it was because I was cold.

My night gowns had low necks. The other night I was so cold that I pulled on a turtle neck shirt over my night gown, and low and behold, I woke up pain free.

Evidently before I had been scrunching up my shoulders when I was cold creating pain in both my upper shoulder and neck.

It is so great to find a solution to a problem, especially one that creates pain.

What solution have you found that works for you?

Can Range of Motion Exercises Help Fibromyalgia?

I have found that if I try to exercise all of my joints with what I call "Range of Motion" that my fibromyalgia problems are less.

I try to think of all the different ways I can move each joint and make them do that but no more than 10 times for each direction and joint. If I do more, then I am very sore for several days.

If you are interested in how I actually do these exercises, please leave me a comment below, and I will try to get them to you.

How do you use exercises to help you?
